SILAO
Silao is a city in the Nalanda District in the Indian state of Bihar.
Silao is famous for Khaja. It is a popular sweet of Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, which is usually relished during religious festivals.
It is also famous for its taste, crispness, and multi-layered appearance which is attributed to the local water and climate of Silao. It consists of 12 - 16 very thin dough - sheets placed over one another.
The traditional delicacy of the Nalanda district of Bihar, Silao Khaja was granted GI (Geographical Indication) Tag.
